A Private Pilot Certificate is the first major milestone for recreational flying and the foundation of a professional aviation path. Training includes aircraft maneuvers, navigation, emergency procedures and cross-country flight planning.
Be at least 16 years old to fly solo

Demonstrate English proficiency
Obtain a third-class FAA Medical Certificate or higher

Develop the qualifications to fly under Instrument Flight Rules through focused training in instrument procedures, weather, meteorology and precise aircraft control by reference to instruments.

40 hours of actual or simulated instrument time
15 hours of instrument flight training
20 hours of flight training with a CFII

Prepare to act as pilot in command for compensation or hire through advanced flight training, commercial maneuvers, cross-country planning and professional operating standards.

100 hours in powered aircraft, including 50 in airplanes

Turn your aviation experience into a career teaching others. This program develops instructional knowledge, lesson planning and flight proficiency to CFI and CFII standards.
